Limone Ski Resort

The Limone ski slopes and the town itself are beautiful. This area is one of the lesser known alternatives to the more famous ski resorts in Italy. The whole Valli Cunese is a firm favourite of mine, summer and winter, and Limone is well worth considering if you would like to avoid the bigger and more commercial ski resorts. Read on for more...

Limone Ski

To assist you with finding the best deals in Limone, Piedmont and the rest of Italy I have put together a couple of useful links that help you to find that perfect ski holiday.

• Bed Finder

• Search and Book

• Last Minute Deals

One of the big advantages of this area is that it offers a rich and varied experience and a lot more besides just winter sports. When you are not on the slopes you will find plenty of quaint villages and towns to explore and a culinary experience second to none.

The Valli del Cunese (Valley of Cuneo) is renowned within Italy as producing the best truffles, mushrooms and some of the best cheeses in Italy. This together with the great local wines means that you are in for a gastronomic treat

Perhaps the best resort in this area is known as the Riserva Bianca (White Reserve). This consists of Limone Piemonte, Limonetto e Quota 1400. The Riserva Bianca has more than 80 kms of ski slopes. Over 20kms of artificial snow slopes are also available if needed. Six of the pistes/slopes are classified as easy with twenty-nine at intermediate level and five rated difficult.

The views from some of the mountain peaks are incredible – From the peak of Mount Pepino, on a clear day, you can see right across the Mediterranean all the way to Corsica and also inland across the Piedmont plain - truly a breathtakingly beautiful experience.

Limone is also a decent little town in its own right. The town dates back to Roman times and the residents speak a language all of their own. There are some great little restaurants and taverns offering the local specialties and those of Piedmont in general. With great food, great skiing, magnificent scenery and plenty to see and do, The Limone ski slopes, the town itself and the Valli del Cunese are certainly well worth a visit.
