Alba Italy

Alba Italy is right in the heart of the Langhe region, the most famous of the Piedmont wine regions and perhaps Italy’s premier wine region - the wines from this region are
available here through our site.
Alba is also one of the gourmet capitals of Piedmont, famous for its
truffles,
it offers a rich variety of some of the
finest Italian foods.
Alba was known in renaissance times as the city of a hundred towers, most no longer exist but the old town centre is still a beautifully preserved and historic Piedmont town, with a great atmosphere. Strolling the streets and Piazzas of Alba on a Sunday afternoon with the family in tow and a gelato in hand is one of life’s great pleasures – particularly when it follows on from a hearty lunch of rabbit, polenta, agnolotti and a robust bottle of Barbera. September and October are great months to visit. The vineyards around town are at their most beautiful, all russets and gold and the truffle festival is in full swing.
The truffle festival
goes on every weekend for about a month. It starts of with the White Night – a night long celebration of music, dancing and of course, this being Italy, eating. The markets and shops are over-flowing with a vast array of great traditional Piedmont foods and a great atmosphere pervades. There is so much to see around Alba, lovely little towns, beautiful scenery and of course the vineyards, up and down the hills and valleys they flow in gorgeous colour. The best way to explore is on foot or by bicycle but failing that car hire is essential. If you would prefer an organized tour why not visit our

The Langhe is an ancient territory, rich in visual and culinary pleasures and Alba is the perfect base to explore this area. View my pick of the

If you would prefer a hotel in this area then I have no hesitation in recommending the La Villa Hotel - one of the top three hotels in Italy. I cannot recommend enough a visit to Alba Italy.
