I have selected some of the books on Piedmont that I love. These are books that should be read equally by those who have never been to Piedmont and by those who love this region as much as I do. They passionately evoke the extraordinary beauty of Piedmont.

A Passion for Piedmont: Italy's Most Glorious Regional Table
This book is great, after reading it, one of my Australian visitors fell so in love with Piedmont that they have visited twice and are hoping to live here one day. Not much I can add to that really, if a book can have such an effect it must be excellent.
Chocolate, Truffles, and Other Treasures of Italy's Piedmont Cuisine
This is a delightful book about Piedmont’s mouthwatering culinary tradition. The book succeeds gloriously in sharing the author’s passion for Piedmont, home to Italy’s greatest cuisine. This is not a recipe book but an exploration of Piedmont, its peoples and their history and how all these elements have succeeded in producing gourmet heaven.
Bonding with Piedmont: Italy's Undiscovered and Bountiful Region
Victor D’Amico and his wife, Yvonne are American of Italian descent. This book is an interesting exploration of Piedmont through their family in Piedmont. The book takes a languid journey through Piedmont – exploring the people, places and cuisine of this little-known Italian Region.
Authentic Piedmont-Aosta Valley
A good guide book by the Touring club of Italy, which is a little like the AAA in the States or the RAC in the UK. The book offers a comprehensive guide to Piedmont ranging from where to stay through to where to eat and things to do.
Autumn in Piemonte: Food and Travels in Italy's Northwest
An absolutely beautiful book, the author is both poet and cook, brilliantly evoking atmosphere and sharing Piedmont’s great recipes and food. The photos are exceptional and together with the passionate writing of the author they will have you longing to follow in her footsteps. I particularly loved the chapters on le Langhe and the one on the Gourmet University which must surely be unique. My favourite of this selection of books on Piedmont.
