Beach Holidays in Sardinia
The best beach holidays and best beaches in Sardinia are the ones in the
Baia di Chia (click to read more on this beach).
I don't know how this beach compares to the ones you have on your site on the east shore of Sardinia because I have never been on holiday to those beaches but for a holiday on the beach in a place that is easy to get to, being near to Cagliari, this is my pick. There are lot of beaches in the bay and and a beautiful salt-water lake just behind the bay called Stagno di Chia, full of pink flamingos. Much of the bay area is delightfully rural and unspoiled and though close to the lovely city of Cagliari a beach vacation here gives the feeling of peaceful isolation. Our family holidays on these beaches have always been glorious. The beaches are safe and sandy, with little rock pools for the kids to fish for tiddlers and crabs, or just to splash around in. We often see dolphins playing in the bay just off the beach, which always makes the holiday for the children. My favourite holiday beach is the horribly named Cala del Morto, which means beach of the dead, but don't let that put you off your holiday, it only has this name because of a cross to the dead on the beach. The other two best beaches are Isula Manna and Cala Cipolla. Cala Cipolla is the next beach up from the bay and has some beautiful reefs. Great holiday fun to combine that relaxing beach time with some serious scuba diving!! Once visited I can bet you will return - everyone does. And remember to relax..that's what beach holidays in Sardinia are supposed to be about. Guido and Gabriella
