Landmark Hotel

The Castello di Pavone really is some place, a landmark hotel in a magnificently restored medieval castle, offering an experience of a lifetime. A quite extraordinary place.

Castello di Pavone

Landmark Hotel

Castello di Pavone Landmark Hotel Words cannot describe this hotel. It astounds you from the minute you first see it rising up in the distance. Italy has a lot of castle hotels but this Piedmont castle takes the cake in my opinion.

The photo above gives you an idea but photos can never really capture this magnificent castle/luxury hotel. It really is breathtaking. Every part of the hotel encapsulates centuries of history.

The Castello di Pavone hotel is a short drive from Turin and very near Ivrea – site of the famous battle of oranges carnival.

The inner hotel/castle walls date back to the 9th century and surround a medieval town and church built in 850.

Restoration took over six years before this landmark luxury hotel could open. Have a look at this virtual tour to really get an understanding of how splendid the hotel is

Luxury hotels come and go but the hotel owners dream was to open a luxury hotel while maintaining the authenticity of the castle and staying true to the period as much as possible. He has succeeded – coming here is like entering a time machine and traveling back to another age.

Hotel service is excellent and what you would expect of a five star luxury hotel rather than a four star hotel. The guest rooms and indeed all the hotel's rooms are furnished in period style, though lacking none of the luxuries of modern day life – air-conditioning, satellite television, mini-bar etc.

Eating in the hotel restaurant is very special and the banqueting rooms can host up to 800. Great if you want a conference or a wedding in a castle! I can assure you dining here will be memorable, whether you are on your own or in a group of 800. The furnishings and sculptures are all authentic and the food is superb.

Try to book the hotel rooms in the tower. You will never forget it, nor the well over a hundred step climb. Don’t worry though, the climb is only if you are in one of the rooms at the top of the tower, but if you don’t mind a bit of exercise these are the rooms to book – magnificent!! My top marks go to this exceptional landmark hotel.
