Chia Beach Sardinia Well Chia Bay (Baia Chia in Italian) and the beaches lining the bay are indeed beautiful as the photo above shows but Chia Beach nor next door Cala Cipolla, named after an onion but stunning, nor Poetto beach are the loveliest beaches in Sardinia. The best beaches in Sardinia are those near Cala Gonone - read more here. The beaches near Cala Gonone on the east of the island are less touristy and life tends to be a little quieter than in the north or south but the beaches are the best I have found in Europe. However if you want to combine a beach holiday with a bit of Sardinian city life then Chia Beach is ideal as it is right on the doorstep of Cagliari, certainly one of the most interesting of Sardinia's cities and packed with great places to visit. Where to Stay near Chia Beach There are a number of resort hotels along this part of the coast but some of them are, to be quite honest, terrible or horribly over-priced. Probably the best bet is to stay at the
Hotel Parco Torre Chia.
