Chia Beach Sardinia

The beaches near Cala Gonone, on the east of the island, are less touristy and life tends to be a little quieter than in the north or south but the beaches are the best I have found in Europe.

Forget the Caribbean, these beaches are better!

If you want to combine a beach holiday with a bit of Sardinian city life then Chia Beach is ideal and better than those east coast beaches in that it is right on the doorstep of the city of Cagliari.

Cagliari is certainly one of the most interesting of all Sardinia's cities and is packed with great places to visit. The old town which is a maze of ancient alleys on top of a hill and the 13th century city walls are just two of its many attractions.

Where to Stay near the Bay of Chia Beaches

There are a number of resort hotels along this part of the coast but some of them are, to be quite honest, terrible or horribly over-priced.

Certainly the best choice is to stay in nearby Santa Margherita di Pula at the quite wonderful Hotel Is Morus Relais.
