Guide to Travel Sites

As you are no doubt aware my site is focused on Italy and more specifically the Italian regions of Piedmont and le Marche.

I have however decided to put together a guide to travel sites that I have used in the past and which I have found useful.

First though check out my list of Best resource sites. These are the big boys on the net and the ones I find most useful.

Best Overall Travel Site

Perhaps the biggest on the net, Expedia is excellent. They have everything from City Breaks to Great Package Deals. HotelRoom.com is another good bet for hotels.

Best Italy Travel Guide

About.com definitely. If you are going anywhere other than Piedmont, Marche or Sardinia - where I can always help - then visit About. Martha Bakerjian has really done a great job of putting together all the info you need for a great holiday in Italy. Whatever you need you will find it here.

One of my favorites that I have always found helpful when getting inspiration for that next vacation is

Good Food

Italian foods and recipes are an important part of my site. In Italy eating together round the table with the family is one of the most important family bonds.

A site that is trying to make this a possibility in English speaking countries - and doing a good job of it - is the site Italian Pasta Recipes by Italians.

Keeping on the subject of food and well worth a visit is the Vagabond Gourmet site.

Anglesey. is inspiring and has lots of hearty food. You can now fly to Anglesey and enjoy beautiful sea views, fine beaches,coastal walks and other attractions. You can also sail over to Dublin on the ferry from Holyhead.

Beaches

My site has a fair bit about the best beaches in Sardinia and the best beaches in le Marche but if you are going further afield in search of magnificent beaches, I would suggest this comprehensive guide covering Boracay Island Philippines . Islands

One of my favourite places in the UK is the Isle of Wight. I can still clearly remember my first trip to this delightful Island with my father when I was around sixteen years old. A LONG time ago!
