Cuisine Guide to Le Marche Restaurants

The Villa Sibillini Restaurant is remarkable. Few places deserve a mention under two different sections of my site but this is one of them. The bed and breakfast/country house in which this restaurant is located is already featured as one of the premier bed and breakfasts in Le Marche (view article here).

The cuisine of Le Marche is little known but superb. It varies considerably between the coast and the interior. The coastal seafood dishes are perhaps better know, however the meat and olive based dishes of the interior are excellent. This restaurant is a good choice to try these. The ingredients used are always fresh and locally sourced.

cuisine guide Villa Sibillini is a family affair – often the case with the best restaurants in Le Marche. The antipasti in particular are exceptional; many of the antipasti feature stuffed olives and Le Marche is THE place in Italy for stuffed olives. The Le Marche olive is much prized in Italy. They are larger than the Tuscan variety but every bit as good. Villa Sibillini’s chef knows exactly how they should be prepared.

What to eat? Difficult question as nearly everything is superb and the menu changes almost daily, based on what is found fresh in the local markets. My suggestion would be to try the five course tasting menu washed down with one of the local wines – the restaurant is great at advising on the best matching.

If the season is right ask to be seated outside on the terrace under the stars, together with the good food and wine you can be assured of a special evening.

For more on the restaurant pay them a vist here.
